Biografía

Marta Leiva Egido is a spanish pianist based in Madrid. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Performance from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in 2016, under the guidance of Dr. Elena Orobio. Subsequently, she moved to Germany to attend Master Studies in Solo Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg at the class of Prof. Hubert Rutkowski, which she completed in 2019. At this German institution, she also received training in Global Art Song with Burkhard Kehring and chamber music with Bernhard Gmelin.

She has further honed her skills through masterclasses conducted by prestigious piano figures such as Alfred Brendel (ClaviCologne Hamburg Festival 2019), Maria João Pires (Rostock Summer School Festival 2018), Michel Béroff, Paul Lewis, Aleksandar Mazdar, Epifanio Comis, Alon Goldstein, Guillermo González, and Kevin Kenner, among others. Moreover, since 2017, she has been a scholarship recipient of the Live Musik Now Yehudin Menuhin Foundation in Hamburg, where she performed numerous chamber concerts in 2018 and 2019. As a performer, she has been awarded with several national prizes in competitions such as "Ciutat de Xátiva," "Diputación de Albacete," "Ciudad de Cuenca," and "Intercentros melómano."

She is a founding member of the Belivet Trio, with which she actively engages in artistic endeavors by regularly offering recitals. In 2022, the trio was awarded the 2nd prize at the "Febrero Musical" Competition in Cox. Additionally, as a soloist, she has performed recitals in prestigious venues in Spain, Germany, England, Portugal, and Slovenia.

In 2022, she premiered the composition "Sons do caboclo" by the Motril-born composer José Miguel Moreno Sabio, which has been included in the CD "Fuego en el Aire," released in 2023.

Since the 2019/2020 academic year, she teaches at the "Victoria de los Ángeles" Conservatory in Madrid, where she currently teaches chamber music, repertoire, and serves as the coordinator for the Erasmus+ project "Legatissimo: Connecting through music."
